Cap Parade

Today is Yen's capping.
And the program landed exactly on my Ragnarok siege time. But it was no loss to me. I wanna break away from some people. Have some space.
So by fourteen hundred hours we were ready to go since there was this news of their lack of seats. Lack of seats? Can't they count? I mean, they were very strict about each student having only two guest or parents with them? So, why the lack of seats?
Actually when we were on the car, I found out that the program will be starting by sixteen hundred hour. How will we pass the time, was always on the top of our head. I told dad we could pass the time in a restaurant.
Thankfully, this morning Yen suggested that I should bring a pocketbook to read while the program was ongoing. But, later I found that the book that I brought was one of those mediocre writing that I forgot I already read it.
Arghhh.
Then when we were near UP, we stopped by Jolibee to fetch Yen's classmate and of course buy food.
I ate my burger on the way to the UP Film Theatre.
Later Yen and her friend went down first while me and dad went to find a parking spot. We parked near the entrance of the building.
Nice one.
If only it was the right building.
We found out to our dismay that the building we were looking for was right behind the building where we perfectly parked our car. So we have to hike [UP is mountainish looking to me] to the other side.
Inside we found out, again, that they do lack sits. So me and dad grabbed some plastic chairs way way behind the theater.
Making myself indolently comfortable, later I found myself sleeping. But at least in this way back of the theater no one can see you.
Because you could be in another part of the country for all I know.
Later a student, who was already capped the year before told us that we could move into the middle of the theater. So dad quickly stood up and dragged his recycled plastic seat and orderd me to follow him.
Awwwwww.
My dignity. So left with no chioice I dragged my chair and after accidentally stomping some foots, placed my chair near dad's and sat. And got a full blast from the AC.
Brrrrr.
I had goosebumps on my entire arms and breast. The only warmth I could get was dad's still warm burger on my bag. Ten minutes after the said time of the program, we had the opening prayer. And only me and dad were sitting. Then without further ado we had the capping candidates marching in.
Then dad said that most of the guys are feminine and gay. Of course he told it to me in Ilocano. You'll never know you could be sitting beside the said student's parents or guest.
Then one of the ushers was asking pardons for the lack of sitting.
Dad answered her in his usual loudness that they should send the faculty members home so that there will be extra seats.
Everybody beside us laughed.
Then next he said that the priest seems to be the MC.
Emcee? Master of Ceremonies?
Mental Case, he answered, snikering.
I just rolled my eyes and started reading the book I brought.
Then dad commented that all the male student looked alike.
Without looking up from my reading I replied, "Because they all have make up and have the same plucked eyebrows," was my bored reply.
