A Stone to the Roof

It was past ten in the evening.
I was just standing by our gate glaring at every male, who is dark and have short hair, evilly.
I was hoping I could see Cookie. Or his catnapper.
Later I heard the Accord. Opening the gate, I saw Tito Gil, our former neighbor and one of dad's closest friend, alighted from the car.
Nana went down too asking me on any developments on the search. No such luck, I told her.
Then I saw Tito Gil screaming and banging the gate of the house in front of ours, real hard.
Later he was throwing stones at the roof. And shouting and cursing drunkenly in Pangalatok. Dad put his arms around my shoulders and laughed at him.
I found that both of them were drunked.
Tsk.
Later more stones were thrown.
Later the Barangay Tanods were called. And more shouts were exchanged.
During the confusion, our dogs made good of the situation and escaped.
I went the other way, so I could meet them in the middle of the village. Later, walking home with the dogs, I saw a bystander watching the fight. Coming up behind him I said, "Yan ang teleserye ng totoong buhay."
Big Brother is nothing compared to this.
