Balls and Boys

It was a holiday. It was when Columbus discovered America. It wasn't a weekend but we checked with FriendlyFire and said that they were open on that day.
So me, mom, tito and Forest were there first thing in the morning. And I get to try my new Angel, which the guys over there were drolling at. Me and Forest have our own Angel One gun and Tito has his AngelG4 but an older version. We were starting to be known as the Angel family. Except mom who has a Triad.
But I guess some of the people didn’t know that the place was open since there were just a handful of people. There were even new referees, I guess the regulars must have a day off too.
And what a bunch of cuties they are too.
Then later Forest came running and said, "Laurice, one of the referees gave this for you." And he lay the barrel plug on the table. "And oh, he said he's single." he added then he ran away.
"Wha... Forest come back here!"
Then me and Mom noticed later he keeps on chatting with the referees. And I was, "Oh my God mom! Who is he selling me to?"
Later when Forest came back I asked him who lend me the barrel plug. He said it wasn't lent to me but a gift. And I asked him why would someone do that. And Forest said because the guy finds me pretty.
"You're joking me." I said at Forest.
"No I'm not."
And I didn't win The Last Man Standing.

That was last Monday.
But yesterday it was just me and Tito. I guess we were just excited to use the new Angels that we went even without Forest.
So when we arrived there, the Filipino group was there already. I greeted the gang and took the table beside them. Then I notice the two new guys. And the other one was staring at me.
Yeah, my antenna went up.
It was the way he stares at me. It was so blatant. I took off my sunglasses, sat down and ignored him. After a moment he came over and introduced himself to Tito. Then he went over to where I was sitting and introduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Cameron." he said and offered his hand down to me.
Looking straight ahead and not at his person, I shook his hand and gave him my name.

Then a little while later while fixing my equipments, I noticed that Cameron and the guy he's with were just sitting there and huddling against the cold. Of course even if you just met them but have the same country of birth and now living on a different one, you must converse with them.
It’s the way of the Kababayan.
So I asked them if they have plans of playing. But they said they don’t want to play. Confused, I asked them why they where here in the first place and suffering in the cold. Then Cameron said he came there to say hi to the gang and maybe eat a little.
“And of course so I could met you.” he smoothly added.
Behind my bored mask I was mentally rolling my eyes. I didn’t reply making his line fall flat.
Then when he saw me filling my hopper with paintballs he quickly stood up and said that he’ll help me.
I was like, no don’t help me. I don’t need it in the first place, I’ve been doing this on my own for a quite some time now. But of course I can’t say no. He was already holding my hopper, which I quickly filled up and thank him. Then I got my tank and quickly left the our table to get my nitro filled.
At the first game I owned with my Angel but for the last guy who shot me after me and one of my team asked him to surrender.
It was a capital rule that when you are less than ten feet away from your opponent you should ask them to surrender.
But that Iraqui guy shot me close-range when we asked him to surrender. It stings. I was more shock than annoyed. But still, I could have him disqualified but I just marched up to him and scolded him there in the middle of the field. Then when I went out of the field I saw him and his friend. I called him back and scolded him again.
And when I had my tank filled, the old man who was watching over at the food counter asked me why I was hit, when he saw me wiping the side of my neck.
I explained to him what happened. He suggested I should have shot the guy in butt and he'll vouch for me. Haha. What a sweet man.
And due to my annoyance, I forgot to turn off my marker that I accidentally twitched it's very sensitive trigger. Now I have a broken paintball inside my gun's barrell and my barrell plug is a mess too, adding to my annoyance.
So, I had to miss the next game coz I need to clean my gun and it's barrel plug. Which leads to another long conversation with Cameron who was sitting at the next table.
While cleaning my gun and refilling my hopper, he interrogated me. First where I live then where I live back home. Then he said he was from some place that we all know where some rich people live. Then he asked me what school I graduated from and he said he graduated from a school I never heard about, without any prompting.
Then he said that maybe I left someone back home who's missing me terribly. I said of course my siblings miss me.
"No, I mean a guy." he clear
"Oh. Of course," I replied deadpan, "they are probably killing themselves with pain of missing me."
"I mean do you have a boyfriend?" he asked.
"Mmmm." Was just my answer, leaving it to him to interpret my answer. I don't want him to think that I am available but I can't tell a lie either.
"Wow. She doesn't want to answer." he laughed.
"No I don't have a boyfriend and I don't plan on having one either." I retorted.
Then later he told us about his first months here in the states. He said he was dead bored. There was nothing to do and no place to go and have fun if you suddenly have the impulse to.
I said that was my situation today because I live in the country and I can't drive so I'm stuck at home.
"Hey, do you wanna go out with me sometime if you have nothing to do? Give me your address and I will fetch you." he brightened up like a bulb.
Awry, I answered that I was too lazy to go anywhere or do anything.
"Your too lazy to go out? I'll be the one fetching you and everything."
Putting my backpack on, my ammo belt and raised my gun Ramboo style, I replied "Yup. I'm too lazy to socialize."
And walked out.
